Dyslexia
Is your child having trouble reading and spelling at school? Do you think your child has dyslexia? If so, talk with your child's teacher or the school's internal supervisor. Together, discuss what is seen in the classroom and what you see at home in terms of reading and spelling. Find out what the concrete reading and spelling level is, what the results at school are, and discuss what additional work is already being done to address the problem with your child.
The elementary school's first task is to provide extra help with reading and spelling. If it appears that insufficient progress is visible despite all the extra help, an examination for dyslexia may be in order.
The elementary school may refer your child for an examination (diagnostics) for Severe Dyslexia based on the Protocol Dyslexia Diagnostics and Treatment 3.0 | Dyslexia Central.
