Communications consultant specializing in board communications
Opsterland lies in the middle of the Frisian forest region and is one of the largest municipalities in Friesland in terms of land area. About 30,000 inhabitants live in the 16 characteristic and vibrant villages and the outlying area. Special about our municipality is the landscape with woods, heathland, nature reserves, grassland, canals and moors. This landscape in combination with peace, space and good accessibility make Opsterland a very attractive residential and recreational municipality.
Opsterland is located along the A7 and N381 freeways and is therefore easily accessible. Large towns like Heerenveen and Drachten can be reached in 10 minutes and Groningen and Leeuwarden within 30 minutes.
Are you looking for a great job for 28 to 32 hours per week in which you make an important contribution to a sustainable and future-proof Opsterland? A job in which you will make a difference for our residents? Do you want to inspire others and ensure that our government is visible and approachable? Yes? Then we are looking for you!
We are looking for a sharp, fresh thinking and passionate
Communications consultant specializing in board communications
What will you do?
As an experienced board communication consultant, you respond to the needs of the board in a timely manner. You do this by sparring on the content and form of communication, providing support and monitoring public opinion, both internally and externally. You also keep an overview of the projects, portfolios and tasks for which the directors are responsible. All this from your area of expertise in communications.
You proactively find solutions to their communication challenges. By monitoring, analyzing and interpreting media statements, public opinion and projects, you come up with sound and clearly substantiated communication advice. You translate (complex) political administrative themes into concrete strategies and key messages.
As a communications specialist, you are the sparring partner for the administrators and contribute your vision and proven expertise to the tasks from the coalition agreement. You guide the administrators in preparing (media) appearances and think about effective ways to reach the target group.
You carry out an active communication and press policy, informing residents, entrepreneurs, colleagues and media quickly and in an accessible way. When appropriate, you are the spokesperson on behalf of the board.
Who are you?
You are the strong and experienced advisor that our directors and colleagues can rely on. You enjoy using your sharp, fresh mind and broad outlook, even outside office hours, for optimal results. You challenge yourself and your communication colleagues to think a step further.
You are managerial-political sensitive; you are good at assessing or anticipating which political decisions will be made, which measures will be prepared and which projects will be implemented. Your passion for governments means that you are well informed about developments within regional and national government.
Where do you land?
In the new Communications team. We make sure that you and your colleagues get off to a flying start. We provide a warm transfer, get you acquainted with our organization and take you through all the ongoing projects. You get to know the team, your colleagues and of course the directors in an informal way. You are more than welcome and you feel it.
Your workplace can be in several places: home, office or another (work) place. With the tools we make available you work how and when you want. We have one condition: on Tuesdays you are in Beetsterzwaag, then we work together and catch up on what's going on.
What do you bring?
- Knowledge; you have a completed college education in the field of communications and are up-to-date in our profession, for example by reading blogs, sites, magazines or by having taken courses;
- A strategic outlook, which shines through in your advice and approach, which is also evident in your experience;
- Word of mouth, including during crisis situations, is a challenge you enjoy working on;
- Working with and advising administrators and fellow advisors is a challenge that delights you. You know your way around political, administrative and official relations;
- Experience advising administrators within (local) government.
What do we have to offer you?
- Scale 10 of the collective bargaining agreement for municipalities. Then you will earn a maximum of € 4671. This amount is gross per month for a 36-hour work week;
- An Individual Choice Budget (IKB) of 17.05% of your gross salary. You choose what you do with this budget. This budget includes, for example, vacation pay and the end-of-year bonus. You can also buy extra leave and participate in the ABP pension plan;
- Plenty of room for personal development and attending various courses and trainings. Learning from and with each other is our priority: together we go for the best result;
- A temporary employment contract for the duration of 1 year. If we are a match, we will convert this to indefinite.
