International military exercise Falcon Leap partly in Opsterland
From September 8 to 19, 2025, the international military exercise Falcon Leap will take place. This exercise is organized by the 11 Air Mobile Brigade of the Royal Army and conducted from Eindhoven Air Base. Parts of the exercise will also be held in the municipality of Opsterland.

What does Falcon Leap entail?
During Falcon Leap, Dutch and international military personnel practice dropping cargo and paratroopers with transport aircraft. This is done together with partners from eight different countries.
In the first week, the emphasis is on dropping cargo. This may include emergency relief supplies, such as those recently dropped over Gaza. In the second week, soldiers practice parachute jumps, using various locations in the Netherlands, including the Marnewaard and areas in the municipality of Opsterland.
Visible and audible
The planes fly lower than normal during the exercise. This makes them more visible and audible. There will be flown in two blocks:
- 1 p.m.-5 p.m.
- 7 p.m. - 11 p.m.
Please note that these times may change. Up-to-date information is on Eindhoven Air Base X account.
Safety and nuisance
To ensure the safety of spectators and parachutists, exact locations and times of parachute jumps are not shared.
Military exercises are carefully prepared, but it is possible that you may experience temporary noise pollution. Do you have a complaint? Then you can report this via the Defence noise nuisance complaint form. More information about flight movements can be found at www.luchtmacht.nl/vliegbewegingen.
